Ann Harleman’s TELL ME, SIGNORA  won the Elixir Press 2018 Fiction Award. Ann Hood had this to say about TELL ME, SIGNORA: “To read Ann Harleman’s delicious new novel is to travel: to Genoa, Italy in 2001 with Kate, who is mourning the death of her husband and struggling to rediscover herself; to sixteenth-century Genoa with the artist Sofonisba Anguissola; and—perhaps most remarkably—into the vagaries of the human heart. Lush and sensual, this is a book you will lose yourself in from start to finish, and beyond.”

Ann Harleman is the author of HAPPINESS, which won the Iowa Short Fiction Award, BITTER LAKE, THOREAU’S LAUNDRY, and THE YEAR SHE DISAPPEARED. Among her awards are Guggenheim and Rockefeller fellowships, the Berlin Prize in Literature, the PEN Syndicated Fiction Award, and the O. Henry Award. In an earlier life, Ann was the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Princeton University, and she has lived and worked in Italy. Having taught for two decades at the Rhode Island School of Design, she is now on the faculty of Brown University.  She and her husband, Sam Earp, make their home within sight of San Francisco Bay.
